When they out-grew their 20,000 sq ft building in Kentwood, Mobile Defenders worked with Veneklasen Construction to build a 95,000 sq ft pre-engineered metal building they could grow into. The new $7.5 million facility houses business offices and warehouse/assembly operations for Mobile Defenders and their fast-growing eduPARTS brand. Mobile Defenders manufactures aftermarket cell phone products and eduPARTS serves K-12 schools with computer repair parts.
The pre-engineered metal building was designed to allow immediate transition of all business operations to the new facility, with about 50% excess space to be leased in the short-term and to serve the expanding needs of eduParts in the longer term.
This project was honored with a 2023 Varco Prudent Hall of Fame Award in the Office Building category.
Since opening their new building, Mobile Defenders has been acquired by MobileSentrix. Read about the acquisition in the Grand Rapids Business Journal.
